Bergeron Counseling Services
We offer students the following options:
- Scheduled confidential HIPAA approved short-term counseling for 30 or 45 minute appointments.
- Same day/ “drop-in” confidential HIPAA approved counseling for 30 or 45 minute appointments.
- Referrals to off-campus providers for longer-term or more intensive mental health care.
To make an appointment on campus: Call or email Heidi Brodtman at 802-654-2234 or Hbrodtman@ctdj.net between the hours of 9am – 4:30pm and she will schedule a time for you to meet with a counselor. For more urgent situations, let Heidi know and she can set you up with a same-day meeting.
*Because our services must be available for all students, we cannot provide regular weekly appointments for all students who want them. We provide mostly short-term, intermittent counseling for our students. If you know that regular weekly counseling is an important part of your self-care plan, we can help you get connected to a provider off campus. If you have a counselor that you are already seeing at home, consider continuing to work with them via telehealth as you transition to campus. Continuing with the same counselor you currently have may be helpful to you as you make the transition to college for the first time, or back to college if you are a returning student.
NOTE: The State of Vermont allows mental health providers from other states, who are licensed and in good standing in their state of origin, to provide telehealth services to clients in Vermont. Your at-home provider can go here for easy-to-follow instructions on how to register in Vermont.

TalkCampus
We have launched a new mental health service called TalkCampus. It’s a free-to-download app where you can talk with other students from around the world if you’re struggling and worried about your mental health. Your student email address will give you free access, just download TalkCampus from the app stores.
TalkCampus is anonymous, it isn’t run by us and we won’t be able to see if you are using it, you also won’t be able to see where other students are from. TalkCampus is based around peer support; you can use it if you need some help yourself or you can go on there and listen and support others.
The platform is safe and moderated and is designed as a place where you can just be yourself and talk about how you’re really feeling. Student life can be tough and we know sometimes you might not want to talk to us about how you’re feeling. TalkCampus isn’t a replacement for counseling or professional support however it is a great place to start talking and to make sure that however you’re feeling right now you’re not alone.
